It's back - new dome at Mayo sports centre inflated this morning

THE iconic dome at Connacht GAA's centre of excellence in Bekan is back up.

In an early start at the venue, the dome was inflated again at the crack of dawn this morning.

The original structure was destroyed during Storm Éowyn last year.

It had hosted hundreds of matches every year, and excitement has been building for its return ever since the replacement dome was delivered to the centre a number of weeks ago.

Connacht GAA shared on its social media this morning that 'at the crack of dawn this morning, 495 days since Storm Éowyn, the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome was inflated again!'

They extended thanks to everyone who made it possible, on what is a momentous day.
