Mayo handed tricky tie in Round 2A of All-Ireland championship

Mayo will have to travel to Tyrone for their next game in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.

The Round 2A clash will be played on the weekend of June 13/14 in Omagh.

It is a repeat of the 2021 All-Ireland final which Tyrone won by 2-14 to 0-15. The teams also met in Omagh last year in an All-Ireland SFC Group 1 encounter, a game that Mayo won by 2-17 to 1-14. Despite that result, Tyrone topped the group while Mayo finished bottom of the pile.

Andy Moran's charges confirmed their place in Round 2A by virtue of a one-point (1-24 to 2-20) victory over Monaghan in Clones on Sunday, while Tyrone defeated Connacht champions Roscommon a week earlier in their Round 1 encounter.

The winners of the Round 2A games will go straight into the All-Ireland quarterfinals, while the losers will go into Round 3 to face the winners of the Round 2B matches. Losers of Round 2B matches are eliminated from the series.

The remaining Round 2A games are: Donegal v Cork, Galway v Westmeath and Louth v Armagh.

The Round 2B games are: Derry v Meath, Kildare v Kerry, Cavan v Dublin and Monaghan v Roscommon.

The draws were made on RTÉ Radio 1 as part of the Morning Ireland show this morning (Tuesday).

Exact fixture details will be announced in due course.
