Mayo's Under 14 Gaynor Cup squad ready for action

THE Mayo Schoolboys/Girls & Youths AFL has its Under 14 girls’ squad taking part in the 2026 Gaynor Cup at the University of Limerick grounds this week until Friday (June 5).

The Mayo girls have an enviable record at this prestigious tournament having garnered four Gaynor titles during the last decade.

Hopes are high for this group too, who have already won an inter-league title at Under 12 level two years ago and again earlier this year.

The squad is managed by the very experienced Mike McGeough, with highly rated coach Dave Bristow also in tow.

Mayo are in a three-team group with Inishowen and old rivals Galway, with the top two teams progressing to the Gaynor Cup knock-out stage.

Luckily enough, Mayo didn’t have a game yesterday (Monday) before facing Inishowen this morning (Tuesday) and Galway later this afternoon.

The Mayo squad features the following: Ayda Bristow, Riona Corrigan, Kayleigh Cunningham, Aoife Durkan, Annie Fleming, Rachel Gallagher, Karla Gibbons, Ailis Harte, Aoife Hoban, Anna Joyce, Michaela Kavanagh, Mia Killeen, Brigita Lyzin, Ellen Masterson, Maebh McGeough, Elizabeth McFetridge, Ruby McNamara, Lexi Murphy, Faye Naughton and Violet O'Malley.
