Blustery showers in store for Mayo on Thursday

Thursday will be a cool and blustery day across Mayo, with widespread showers merging into longer spells of rain at times.

The showers will become less frequent through the afternoon, with some sunny spells developing later in the day.

Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with fresh and gusty westerly winds.

Thursday night will bring clear spells and scattered showers, mainly across the western half of the country.

Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees, with moderate to fresh westerly winds easing to light to moderate southwesterly overnight.

Looking further ahead, Friday will bring a mix of well-scattered showers and sunny spells early in the day before cloud builds from the southwest through the afternoon.

Rain will follow, spreading into much of the south and west by evening.

Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest winds.

The weekend will remain unsettled, with further rain or showers expected on both Saturday and Sunday.
