Council asked to trim overgrowth at Mayo junctions

OVERGROWN vegetation at junctions must be cut back, a Mayo councillor has told local authority management.

Growth is causing limited visibility at some junctions, Councillor Damien Ryan told a Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District meeting.

Verge trimming has to take place where visibility is hampered, he insisted.

The district, he said, has to have a policy to look at junctions and cut back vegetation where necessary, adding that it would have an impact on road safety.
