Crean Group raises over €20,000 for Mayo's Sunflower Children’s Hospice
Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation is thrilled that the Crean Group has raised over €20,000 for the Sunflower Children’s Hospice, following a hugely successful 10k Fun Walk in Castlebar.
Thanks to the remarkable generosity of their staff, supply chain and business partners, the fundraising effort has exceeded all expectations and will continue to raise funds as their UK team prepares to take on their own fundraising walk on Sunday, July 12.
Staff from across Crean Group’s teams in Castlebar, Sligo and Charlestown took to the roads of Castlebar in what proved to be a memorable day for the business and the communities they serve.
The event, which was open to staff and their families, demonstrated the strength of commitment across the entire organisation to a cause close to their hearts.
The fundraising effort continues to gather momentum, with the iDonate page remaining open until the end of July.
David Cunningham, Director of Director of Crean Group, said: "We are so proud of everyone who took part the walk.
"The support from our staff, our supply chain and our business partners has been phenomenal, and to raise over €20,000 for the Sunflower Children's Hospice is beyond what we could have hoped for.
"This is a cause that means a great deal to all of us, and with our UK team preparing for their walk in July we hope to add even further to this total. We would encourage anyone who can to donate and help this incredible cause."
Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation said: “We are blown away by the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone at Crean Group. To raise over €20,000 is an incredible achievement and a testament to the culture of this company, one that cares deeply about the communities it serves.
"With their UK team already gearing up for their walk in July, we know there is more to come. Every euro raised brings us closer to opening the doors of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice for the children and families who need it most. We could not be more grateful.”
Every euro raised will go directly towards the development of the Sunflower Children’s Hospice, which will deliver specialist palliative and respite care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses across eight counties in the West of Ireland. Alongside clinical care, the hospice will provide vital emotional, practical and bereavement support for families.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2026.
