Mayo's Connect Café – A cultural companions conversation
A Cultural Companions Conversation has taken place at The Ellison Hotel, Castlebar as part of Mayo County Council Arts Service Bealtaine Programme.
The event welcomed both new and existing members of the Mayo Cultural Companions Network for an engaging afternoon of conversation, connection and community building.
There was a great turnout to the event, which brought together a diverse group of attendees who took part in open discussions centred on connection, creativity and the role of arts and culture as we age.
The event began with an icebreaker which gave participants the chance to get to know one another.
Participants were then able to engage in open conversations where they shared their experiences, reflected on the value of social engagement and contributed ideas to help shape the future development of the Cultural Companions Network in Co. Mayo.
The Connect Café provided an opportunity for attendees to create connections with others and created a strong sense of belonging and community.
Conversations highlighted the importance of being part of a community and reinforced the positive impact that arts and cultural participation can have on wellbeing as we age.
The discussion was followed by a lunch where attendees were able to continue these conversations and connect in a more informal setting.
Mayo County Council Arts Service extends its appreciation to all who attended and contributed to the success of the event.
