Fond tributes to popular Mayo farmer John McLoughlin
The death of John McLoughlin, Glenisland Road, Derrycoosh, Castlebar, is deeply regretted.
He died peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
John will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife Bernadette, sons John, Stephen and Paul, daughters Feriona, Aisling and Deirdre, grandchildren Tara, Anna, Isla and Cian, brothers Tommy, Patrick, Martin and Liam, sisters Mary and Noreen, daughters-in-law Louisa and Laura, sons-in-law Paddy, Vasek and Chris, sisters-in-law Noreen Walsh (French Hill), Peggy McLoughlin (Derrycoosh), Vera McLoughlin (Derrycoosh) and Helen McLoughlin (Clane), brothers-in-law Patsy Cawley (Clogher) and Christy Martyn (Athenry), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
He was predeceased by his son David and parents Mary and John.
A widely-popular member of the local community, he was a hard-working farmer and expert cattle breeder.
Warm tributes are being paid to him on social media.
One stated: "Johnny was a lovely man and always so friendly whenever we met him. He will be greatly missed by all of us in Derrycoosh."
"He was a lovely gentleman to meet and talk to," another stated.
"Johnny was always so kind to me and he will always be part of my best childhood memories," a further tribute added.
John will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, this evening (Saturday) from 5 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to his residence.
Funeral cortége will arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Islandeady on Sunday at 12 noon for Requiem Mass at 1 p.m.
John will be laid to rest afterwards in Islandeady Cemetery.
