New university serving Mayo records 40% increase in student numbers

There has been a 40% increase in student numbers since the establishment of Atlantic Technological University in April 2022, an Oireachtas committee has been told.

The university was made up of Sligo, Galway-Mayo and Letterkenny ITs and currently serves in excess of 30,000 students.

It is the only region that is showing any rise in students, Clare TD Donna McGettigan stated.
