Eight Mayo SPAR Stores receive top accolade for retail excellence
Eight Mayo SPAR stores were honoured at the 2026 SPAR 365 Standards Customer Care Programme Awards for achieving exceptional standards in retailing. The awards were held recently in Killashee Hotel, in Naas, Co Kildare, and hosted by BWG Foods, owners and operators of the SPAR brand in Ireland.
The Mayo stores who received a SPAR 365 Standards Customer Care Programme Award were: Kernan's SPAR, Charlestown; McDonagh's SPAR, Charlestown Service Station; SPAR Corrib Oil, Louisburgh; SPAR Corrib Oil, Westport; SPAR Corrib Oil, Ballyhaunis; SPAR Corrib Oil, Swinford; SPAR Corrib Oil, Ballinrobe, and SPAR Corrib Oil, Castlebar.
This year’s SPAR 365 Awards, held in association with independent bodies Solution Management Associates (SMA) and Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA), recognise SPAR stores that have excelled across all areas of retail operations over the past year. In winning these awards, the SPAR stores were independently assessed across a range of criteria including customer service through SMA as well as a robust Food Safety and Hygiene audit conducted by LRQA. These exemplary SPAR Retailers received their award in recognition of their commitment to implementing best practice store standards throughout their store, thereby providing an excellent customer experience to their local community.
Congratulating the winners, Colin Donnelly, SPAR Sales Director, said: “We are incredibly proud of all our SPAR Retailers and the exceptional service they provide to their communities and customers throughout Ireland. It is important to celebrate these wonderful ambassadors who bring the SPAR brand to life every day. Well done to all the SPAR winners from County Mayo. Their efforts have been truly outstanding, and this recognition is very well-deserved.”
