Irish Citylink proposes new stops in two Mayo communities after feedback

Irish Citylink has applied to the National Transport Authority (NTA) to introduce new stops in Straide and Breaffy on its Galway-Ballina Route 430.

The application follows recent engagement with customers, including feedback from the community in Straide and Breaffy who highlighted the impact of recent changes to local bus services.

Earlier this year, following the withdrawal of Bus Éireann’s Route 52, Irish Citylink moved quickly to introduce additional services on Route 430, helping to maintain vital connectivity along the corridor.

While the revised service ensured continuity for many communities, the company acknowledged that some locations, including Straide, were not initially served.

Once approved the new stops will improve accessibility for residents in both Straide and Breaffy, particularly those relying on public transport for work, education, healthcare and social connections.

Irish Citylink will continue to work closely with the NTA in the coming weeks as the application is reviewed, with further updates to follow once a decision has been made.
