Mayo women's league divisional cup finalists decided

THIS year's Eco-Powered Cabinets Mayo Women's League divisional cup finalists have been decided.

Manulla will be looking to retain the Rumley Cup in a repeat of last year's final against Castlebar Town, which was decided on penalties.

Killala will hope to go a step further than last year in the Mary Walsh Cup, with Castlebar Celtic standing in their way in this year's final.

And the Division Two Cup final will feature Achill Rovers and Crossmolina, with all three finals being played over the weekend of August 8 and 9.

Manulla enjoyed a comprehensive 8-1 win over Kilmore in their Rumley Cup semi-final. The north Mayo side went into the game with a run of good recent results under their belts, but found themselves facing a mammoth task when six goals in arrears at half-time.

Subsitute Kathrina Barrett scored Kilmore's solitary goal, while no less than seven Manulla players got their names on the score sheet.

Castlebar Town returned happy from their evening's work against Straide & Foxford United in the other semi-final.

Grace Naughton had the home side in front on eight minutes, but Amy Dowling equalised on 13 and Roisín Horkan had the first of her two goals before the break as Town went on to secure a 1-4 win.

A 12-goal thriller was played out in the Mary Walsh Cup in Westport where visitors Killala emerged winners by two goals, 5-7, after extra time.

Leila O'Malley notched up a hat-trick for the 'Port but Ella McLoughlin went one better for Killala with four goals - two of them crucial scores in extra-time to book her side's place in the final.

The game had a frantic opening, with two very early goals - one apiece - and the sides were level, 3-3, at half-time.

Westport led by one approaching the 86th minute, when Alison Long rattled the net to send matters to extra time where three goals from McLoughlin proved the difference.

Achill Rovers booked their place in the Division 2 Cup final after a lively encounter with Ballyvary Blue Bombers that ended 2-1.

Their visitors scored an early goal on 13 minutes courtesy of Sophia Bird but Achill kept their composure, digging deep. Their reward came in the 75th minute when Kiera Corrigan got them back on level terms.

The tie was decided five minutes later as they chased the winner, Jemma Watson, from the penalty spot, putting home the winning goal.

Achill' were finalists in the cup last year and they'll be hoping to secure the silverware on their second attempt, with Crossmolina providing the opposition this season.

Castlebar Celtic and Crossmolina received walkovers into their respective finals with their semi-final opponents, Ballinrobe Town and Snugboro, unable to field teams.

The focus will again be on knock-out football next Friday evening with Mayo Cup and Shield action, while Ballyglass have a trip to Limerick on Sunday for their FAI Amateur Shield last 16 game versus Breska Rovers.
