Opportune time to explore Canada flights from Mayo airport

TRANSATLANTIC flights from Ireland West Airport Knock to Canada should be explored.

The opportunity has never been greater to get direct flights between the two, Councillor Damien Ryan told a Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District meeting.

Following his recent visit to Mayo, they would be pushing an open door with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, he suggested.

With many people travelling to Canada, cathaoirleach Councillor Neil Cruise agreed that if a route could be opened up it would be a great addition to Knock airport.
