Cloudy start across Mayo before sunshine develops on Wednesday

Wednesday will start cloudy across Mayo, with mist, fog and patches of drizzle.

These will clear during the morning. Spells of sunshine will develop for most as the afternoon wears on.

Cloud will persist along the west of the county for much of the day. It will be a warm day overall.

Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees are expected. Winds will be light, from the west to southwest, gradually increasing moderate near the coast.

Tonight will be dry with clear spells. Mist and fog will develop overnight.

It will be mild and humid. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees are forecast, in a light southwest or variable breeze.

Looking further ahead, drier and warmer weather is on the way for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Thursday will be sunny and very warm in the south and east of the country, with any mist and fog clearing during the morning.

Mayo will stay cloudier, with a chance of isolated patches of light rain and drizzle.

Highest temperatures of 20 degrees are expected, in light southwesterly or variable winds.
