Go-ahead for 51 new homes in Mayo county town
A 51-unit housing development in Castlebar has received planning approval.
The project relates to lands at Garryduff Park East (site 1), Snugborough, and is being developed by MGB Land Holdings Ltd.
It comprises a mix of two- and three-storey semi-detached and terraced houses and duplex/ apartment configurations.
A number of observations were made to planners raising concerns about aspects of the project, including impact on traffic, access, flooding and density.
The site is part of an overall larger residential masterplan for the area, which has also being going through the planning process. The original proposal was for 55 units but that was reduced by four by the developer, with a revised housing mix.
The grant of permission by Mayo County Council is subject to a number of conditions.
