Croagh Patrick pilgrims fork out over €62k in Mayo parking charges
Pilgrims to Croagh Patrick forked out €62,390 in parking charges last year, according to a report by Mayo County Council.
The statistics, issued to Councillor Patsy O'Brien, showed that €2,058,012 was collected in parking fees in the county last year.
The greatest amount was raised in Castlebar, a sum of €736,341.
A total of €624,429 was paid out in Ballina and €446,456 in Westport.
The remaining revenue was collected in Claremorris (€123,470), Ballinrobe (€64,926) and Murrisk (€62,390).
A further €210,065 was collected in fines, bringing the total to €2,268,077.
The total cost of operating pay and display for 2025 was €1,142,733, leaving the council with a profit of over €1 million.
