Mayo town with highest number of collected parking fines revealed

Mayo County Council collected a total of €210,065 in parking fines last year.

The data has been made available to Councillor Patsy O'Brien.

The location in which the highest number of fines were imposed and collected was Westport with €91,225.

Next came Ballina with €59,779, Castlebar (€29,330), Claremorris (€20,725) and Ballinrobe (€9,010).

The total cost of operating pay and display in the county during 2025 was €1.142 million.

But more than €2.058 million was collected by the council in parking charges.
