Clarke Museum to mark Mayo final with historic GAA exhibition
The Clarke Collection of Irish History in Ballina will stage a special exhibition to celebrate Mayo's run to the All-Ireland final.
The exhibition opens on Wednesday, Heritage Day in Ballina.
Original newspaper clippings from Mayo's All-Ireland victories in 1936, 1950 and 1951 will go on display, alongside rare photographs of the Mayo teams and players from that era.
Fr. Peter Quinn's match-worn jersey from the 1950 All-Ireland victory will also feature.
His Celtic Cross medals from the 1950 and 1951 finals, and the match ball from the 1951 decider, complete the display.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the Clarke Museum of Irish History on Pearse Street, Ballina.
