Mayo set for hot and sunny start before afternoon storms

Mayo will see another very warm start to Wednesday, with highest temperatures reaching 25 to 30 degrees.

The morning will be dry and sunny across the county.

Scattered heavy showers will develop during the afternoon and evening, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

Winds will be light to moderate and easterly throughout the day.

Any showers will clear early on Wednesday night, leaving dry and clear conditions.

Lowest temperatures will fall to 13 to 17 degrees, with light northerly or variable winds.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring a chance of isolated showers in the southwest, but conditions will stay mostly dry and sunny elsewhere, with highest temperatures of 24 to 29 degrees.

Friday will be dry, sunny and warm to very warm for most, with highest temperatures of 24 to 29 degrees, though cloud in the north and northwest will keep temperatures there closer to 17 to 20 degrees.

The weekend will stay dry, warm and sunny generally, with highest temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees, cooler again in the north and northwest.
