Sunny conditions to continue across Mayo as temperatures climb to 30°C
Mayo looks set to enjoy another spell of warm summer weather on Thursday, with temperatures expected to reach the high twenties as dry and sunny conditions continue across the county.
Forecasters say Thursday will be largely dry with prolonged sunshine for most areas.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 25°C and 30°C, with light to moderate north to north-easterly breezes providing only limited relief from the heat.
There is, however, a chance that patches of coastal fog will develop later in the afternoon and evening, particularly along northern coastal areas.
The warm weather is expected to continue into Thursday night, with dry conditions and long clear spells.
Some mist and fog may form overnight as temperatures fall to between 13°C and 17°C in light to moderate northerly winds.
Looking ahead, the national outlook indicates that the settled spell will continue, with mostly dry, warm and sunny weather expected over the coming days.
Temperatures are set to remain in the mid to high twenties across much of the country.
However, forecasters say a shift to a more northerly airflow over the weekend will bring cooler conditions to northern parts of the country, including Mayo, although the weather is expected to remain largely dry.
