Mayo senator welcomes extra Croke Park service for Mayo fans ahead of All-Ireland final

Irish Rail is putting on an extra train service between Westport and Dublin for the All-Ireland final on July 26.

The Westport to Heuston service departs at 8.45am. The return service leaves Heuston at 7.10pm.

Senator Mark Duffy welcomed the move with a post on social media stating: "Supporting Mayo all the way," he said, confirming he had campaigned for the extra capacity.

Mayo face Kerry in the final at Croke Park. Demand for tickets and transport has been high since the county's semi-final win over Louth on July 13.

Fans travelling from Westport and along the line are advised to book early, with the extra service expected to ease pressure on the regular timetable.
