Design contract for major Mayo sports campus awarded

The design contract has been awarded for the Mayo Community Sports Campus in Castlebar.

The facility will include an athletics track and football pitches.

Tobin Consulting Engineers, Market Square, Castlebar, were the successful bidders.

The total cost of the proposed project is €12,149,488, with a €7.5 million grant already approved for the project .

Other assessments and investigations are being carried out on the site at Knockaphunta, Westport Road, Castlebar.
