Central Mayo community has concerns about speeding on rural route

CONCERNS about speeding on the L1706 local road in Manulla have been brought to the attention of Mayo County Council.

A request from residents for a safety assessment, with a lack of road markings, delineation and speeding traffic, was raised by Councillor Harry Barrett at the monthly Castlebar Municipal District meeting.

It relates to the route from the junction to the old barracks.

Residents said they weren't getting the input they need to make it safe, said Councillor Barrett, and he has asked for a safety review.
