Mayo family business launches lamb 'Victory Box' to mark All-Ireland win
The popular farm producers have launched a limited-edition lamb hamper to mark Mayo's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship win.
Calvey's Achill Mountain Lamb has released the "Mayo for Sam - Achill for Lamb" Champions Celebration Achill Lamb Victory Box, priced at €230 including nationwide delivery.
The box contains 12kg of new season Achill Mountain Lamb along with a specially commissioned keepsake marking the county's win.
The launch comes as the 2026 season of the company's lamb gets underway. Six generations of the Calvey family have reared their flock on Achill Island since 1866, with the sheep grazing on wild Atlantic sea herbs, heather and mountain grasses.
Every lamb has been butchered at the family's purpose-built abattoir on the island since 1962.
Martina Calvey of Calvey's Achill Mountain Lamb said the family is involved in every step, from rearing the lambs to packing and sending out each order themselves.
She said customers return every year because they know where their lamb has come from and the care that goes into producing it.
Each lamb is prepared using traditional craft butchery techniques, with customers able to choose their preferred cuts.
Every order comes with a recipe booklet and is also available to catering businesses through La Rosse Fine Foods.
Customers can order online at www.AchillLamb.ie or by calling Grainne Calvey on (098) 43158.
Calvey's also runs a Farm Store and Butcher Shop at Keel, Achill Island.
