Year-long closure for Mayo road as flood relief works continue
A 150-metre stretch of road in Crossmolina faces a year-long closure to facilitate flood relief works.
Mayo county council has confirmed that part of the town's Chapel Road (the L-1105-0) will be closed to traffic to allow further works on the River Deel Flood Relief Scheme.
The closure begins at 8 a.m. on October 1 this year and will remain in place until September 30, 2027.
Chapel Road runs parallel to the River Deel and provides access to Crossmolina National School and St. Tiernan's Church.
The local authority has confirmed an official diversion route will be in place via the L1105, L5154, R316, R315 and N59.
