Mayo set for mostly dry start to the week with rain ahead midweek

Looking further ahead, rain will spread across the country on Monday night before Tuesday brings scattered showers easing to sunny spells.

Highest temperatures on Tuesday will reach 16 to 17 degrees.

Wednesday will see showers spreading to all areas, some heavy or prolonged, with highs of 16 to 20 degrees.

Thursday and Friday will turn cooler and fresher, with sunny spells and scattered showers, and highest temperatures dropping to between 14 and 19 degrees.
