Mayo set for cloudy spells and evening rain
Today will be rather cloudy across Mayo, with just a few sunny spells breaking through.
Isolated patches of light rain and drizzle will develop this afternoon.
More persistent rain will spread from the northwest towards evening, turning heavy in places.
Highest temperatures will reach 17 to 20 degrees in moderate westerly winds.
Tonight will stay cloudy, with rain clearing to the southeast early on. Scattered showers and patches of drizzle and mist will follow for the rest of the night.
It will be mild, with lowest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in light to moderate westerly breezes.
Looking ahead: Tuesday will start mostly cloudy with scattered showers, brightening through the afternoon before more frequent showers move in from the west by evening.
Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees are expected.
Showers will turn widespread and heavy on Wednesday, easing back on Thursday and Friday with sunnier spells returning.
A more settled picture is expected for next weekend, with temperatures in the mid to high teens.
