Ten-month-old Limousin heifer fetches €5.8k at leading Mayo mart

A ten-month-old old Dovea Claddagh McCabe-sired red Limousin heifer weighing 350kg has been sold by a farmer from Logaphuill, Castlebar, for a sum of €5,800 at Balla Mart.

The buyer did his bidding online.

The sale featured 400 bulls with half of them making from between €2,000 to €3,000

Exporters were out in strength buying in the 350 to 420kg range at approximately 5.20/kg to 5.50/kg, the mart is reporting.

A Charolais bull weighing 610kg was sold for €2,980.00 by a farmer from Rosslahan, Manulla.
