Busy Mayo road set to close for 11 days next month

South Mayo motorists have been advised to allow additional travel time in the middle of September as major road works take place.

The project, which will be adjacent to the Owenbrin River Bridge, will commence at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 14, and run until Friday, September 25, at 6 pm.

The closure will take place on a 3.2 kilmometre stretch of road on the R-300, which runs along Lough Mask.

As part of the closure, a number of diversions will be in place, using the R-330, the N-84 to Ballinrobe, and the R-345 to Clonbur.

Local access will be provided for properties along the closed route.
