Warm and largely dry Monday ahead for Mayo

MAYO is set for a warmer and largely dry day tomorrow, with sunny spells expected across the county and temperatures reaching around 22 degrees.

Met Éireann is forecasting a mainly dry and bright day, with sunny spells becoming hazy at times.

Scattered light showers could develop in western parts of the county during the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will be noticeably warmer than today, with highs of around 19 to 23 degrees nationally. Winds will be light and generally from an east to southeast direction.

Overnight tonight will remain dry with clear spells, although some mist and fog patches may develop towards morning. Lowest temperatures will fall to between 5 and 9 degrees.

The warmer conditions are not expected to last, however, with the national outlook indicating a more unsettled spell developing from Tuesday.

Met Éireann is forecasting a cloudy Tuesday with scattered showers initially, followed by longer spells of rain spreading from the south later in the day.

Further unsettled weather is expected through Wednesday and Thursday, with showers or longer spells of rain, some of which could be heavy or thundery.

For Monday, however, Mayo can look forward to a generally warm and pleasant day, with the best of the sunshine likely before the chance of some light showers later.
