Search begins for Mayo's best businesses as annual awards open
Businesses from every corner of County Mayo are being invited to showcase their achievements as entries open on Tuesday, September 1, for the Mayo Business Awards 2026.
Organised by the Mayo Chambers of Commerce with the support of Local Enterprise Office Mayo, the awards recognise the innovation, ambition and resilience of businesses that continue to make a significant contribution to Mayo's economy and communities.
Open to businesses of all sizes and across all sectors, the Mayo Business Awards provide an opportunity to gain recognition, celebrate success, acknowledge the commitment of staff and raise business profiles throughout the county.
Entries will remain open until Friday, September 25, with businesses encouraged to submit their applications well in advance of the closing date.
Speaking about the awards, John Magee, Head of Local Enterprise Office Mayo said: "Behind every successful business is a story of hard work, determination and ambition.
"The Mayo Business Awards are an opportunity to recognise those achievements and celebrate the businesses that are helping our county prosper.
"Whether you're an established company or an emerging enterprise, I would encourage businesses from every part of Mayo to enter and share their success."
Brian Bakeberg, president of Erris Chamber, said hosting this year's awards in Erris reflects the countywide spirit of the initiative.
"We are proud to welcome the Mayo Business Awards to the Erris Coast Hotel this November.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to showcase our region while celebrating the outstanding businesses that make such a valuable contribution to communities across County Mayo.

Award categories recognise excellence across a broad range of sectors, including innovation, start-up enterprise, tourism, sustainability, digital excellence, customer experience, hospitality, inclusion and business excellence.
The prestigious Neill O'Neill Award and Mayo Chambers Award will also be presented this year.
The winners will be announced at the Mayo Business Awards Gala Lunch at the Erris Coast Hotel on Friday, November 6, when businesses from across the county will come together to celebrate excellence, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The Mayo Business Awards continue to be a truly countywide initiative, recognising the contribution businesses make to local communities, employment and economic development throughout Mayo.
Entry to the Mayo Business Awards is free of charge.
