Dovida to create 30 home care jobs across Mayo

IRELAND’S leading home care provider, Dovida, has launched a new recruitment campaign for people to light up lives in their local community.

The company is creating 30 new caregiver roles across Mayo to help support more people to live independently at home and stay connected to their family, friends, and communities.

The new roles will be a mix of flexible and fixed-hour positions, with full-time hours also available for those who would like them. However, many of the company’s caregivers choose their own hours around what best suits their lifestyle.

“In our experience, a lot of people really like the flexibility the job offers,” Wayne Devy, Dovida’s northwest regional manager, said. “These roles are particularly popular with people whose children are returning to school or starting school for the first time and those who have other commitments such as studying,” he added.

“Of course, there’s always room for people who want to work full-time, and Dovida is a great place to develop a rewarding career in caregiving,” he said.

Dovida provides a wide range of home care and support services. The organisation’s person-centred approach means that its caregivers build meaningful connections with their clients and empower them to live fuller, more independent lives.

Dovida employs more than 4,000 skilled, compassionate caregivers nationwide.

For Dovida’s Caregiver of the Year 2026, Emma McGrath, being a caregiver is a very rewarding experience.

“Every day is different, and I absolutely love being a caregiver. The first day I started, I just knew it was for me. We look after the most vulnerable people in our community, and some days I’m the only person that they have, so it means the world to me to be able to bring some joy and connection to their lives,” she said.
