Warm Mayo tributes to 'lovely lady' Nora Barrett

The death of Nora Barrett (née Boyle), Drumdoagh, Drimcurrabawn, Breaffy, Castlebar, is widely mourned in the community.

She died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in Claremount Nursing Home, Claremorris, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Jimmy and brother Eddie Boyle (Irishtown), she is deeply regretted by her sons John, Seamus and Kenneth, daughters Maureen (Hanlon), Patricia (O’Boyle) and Rhona (Kilcommins), sisters Mary Kelly (Irishtown), Bridget Callan (Stoke-on-Trent) and Kitty (Castlebar), brother-in-law Michael O’Connor (Castlebar), sister-in-law Alice Barrett (Manulla), daughters-in-law Ann, Margaret and Fiona, sons-in-law John, Michael and Tomás, grandchildren Jamie, Sean, Neil, Emily, Thomas, Aoife, Ciarán, Fergus, Eilís, Rachel, Sarah, Daragh, Ava, Lauren, Isabelle and Rubyanna, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Warm tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.

"Nora loved her game of 25, enjoyed meeting people and loved to chat," one stated.

"I had the pleasure of working with Nora many years ago she was a lovely lady," another stated.

"Such a special, pleasant lady to have known," a further tribute added.

Nora will repose in Coady’s Funeral home, Castlebar, this evening (Tuesday) from 5 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to St. Aloysius Church, Breaffy.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning at 11.30 a.m. followed by burial afterwards in Breaffy Cemetery.
