Wet start expected across Mayo tomorrow as rain gives way to showers

MAYO is set for a wet and unsettled start to Wednesday, with rain easing later in the morning before patchy drizzle and showers develop.

According to the latest forecast from Met Éireann, Wednesday will begin damp or wet across the county as overnight rain moves away towards the Irish Sea.

The rain is expected to ease through the morning, but patchy drizzle will follow from the west, with some heavier bursts possible at times across western and northwestern areas.

There will be some brighter or sunny spells developing during the day, although conditions are expected to remain largely cloudy across Mayo.

Temperatures will be relatively mild for early September, reaching around 19 degrees, with overnight temperatures dropping to approximately 14 degrees.

Winds will be moderate and southwesterly, with fresher conditions possible along exposed Atlantic coastal areas.

Met Éireann says Wednesday will be a very mild and humid day nationally, with temperatures ranging between 17 and 23 degrees.

The unsettled pattern is expected to continue through the remainder of the week, with further showers and spells of rain forecast.
