Growing Mayo school announces appointment of third deputy principal

DAVITT College in Castlebar has announced the appointment of John Bones as the school's third deputy principal.

Mr. Bones joins Davitt College with a wealth of experience in school leadership, having served as deputy principal at St. Joseph's Community College, Charlestown, since 2014, where he also held the role of acting principal.

The new appointment reflects the continued growth of Davitt College, which now has an enrolment of over 900 students, making it the largest post-primary school in both Co. Mayo and Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board.

In the school's announcement, principal Conor O'Reilly commented: "We are delighted to welcome John to our senior leadership team. His experience and expertise will be a great asset to Davitt College as we continue to grow."

Mr. Bones joins deputy principals Anita Gallagher and William Rowan as part of the expanded senior management team.
