Mayo Cultural Companions Network scheduled to meet in September

Mayo County Council Arts Service invites members of the Mayo Cultural Companions Network to attend a Cultural Companions Meet Up which will take place on Wednesday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., at The Ellison Hotel, Castlebar. Cultural Companions is an Age and Opportunity Arts Initiative comprising a network of older people interested in arts and culture who can attend events together as a group.

Mayo Cultural Companions aim is to provide increased opportunities for older people to engage with Mayo’s vibrant arts and cultural scene and membership is free.

Members will receive a regular calendar of events and will independently book and pay for those events they wish to attend. The members meet up at an allocated time prior to an event and attend together, usually with a social get together built in.

The event on September 30 will focus on the findings from the previous Connect Café which took place last May. The event will involve a short presentation to the network, followed by a brief Q&A on the findings.

Musicians from Music and Health Ireland will join the group afterwards - bringing their trademark tunes and chat. This will be followed by some light refreshments.

New and existing members of the Mayo Cultural Companions network are invited to come along and get involved in the future of the network in Mayo.

Free Parking is available at The Ellison Hotel for attendees.
