Mayo GAA begin mammoth task of bringing Sam to every school in the county

Mayo GAA, with the help of members of the county's All-Ireland senior football championship winning squad, has begun the mammoth task of bringing the Sam Maguire to every school across the county.

It got underway yesterday (Tuesday) when the most famous trophy in Irish sport visited the pupils of Ballaghaderreen, Brusa and Derrinabroc primary schools, much to the excitement of everyone in attendance.

Today, the tours is going to Kilkelly NS, Tavenna NS, KIlmovee NS and Charlestown NS.

In one of the greatest promotional exercises ever undertake by Mayo GAA, over 140 schools will be visited between here and December 31.

Separate arrangements are being made to visit Mayo's special education schools.

Then Sam goes into the trophy cabinet at Hastings Insurance McHale Park in Castlebar for a well-earned rest!

From September 11 to October 1
From October 1 to October 21
