Rain expected to return across Mayo tomorrow

Rain and drizzle are set to return across Mayo tomorrow, Saturday, September 5, following a largely dry and brighter start to the day.

According to the latest forecast from Met Éireann, Saturday morning will begin mostly dry across the county, with some sunny spells, isolated showers and patches of mist.

However, conditions will deteriorate as the day progresses, with cloud expected to increase through the morning before outbreaks of rain and drizzle develop during the afternoon and evening.

The rain will extend northeastwards across Connacht through the day, with Mayo likely to see increasingly damp conditions as Saturday progresses.

Met Éireann is also forecasting mist and hill fog, particularly across higher ground.

Temperatures will remain relatively mild, with afternoon highs of around 15 to 18 degrees in Connacht, while winds will be light to moderate, initially from the south to southwest before turning more southerly to southeasterly.

The unsettled pattern is expected to continue into Sunday, when Mayo and the wider west can expect a breezy day with further outbreaks of rain.
