The death of Roberto Amling, Garryduff Park, Castlebar, and formerly of Balbriggan, Dublin and Kaltennorgheim, Thuringia, Germany, has evoked great sadness and loss in the community.

He will be sadly missed and forever loved by his heartbroken family: wife Esther (née O’Grady), daughters Emily and Sophie, parents Brigitte and Horst Amling, brother Mario, parents-in-law Della and Joe O’Grady (Rathbawn, Castlebar), brother-in-law Andreas, sister-in-law Ruth, niece Rebecca, nephews Josh and Danny, aunts, uncles, cousins, all the family circle, relatives and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Fond tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.

"He loved sharing stories and talking about his passion for history, geography and his greatest love of being a dad, he was so proud of his girls.

"His kindness, warmth and sense of humour will be remembered fondly," one stated.

Condolences are also being extended online to the Amling and O'Grady families.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
