Warm Mayo tributes to 'lovely lady' Goretti Kneafsey

The death at Mayo University Hospital of Goretti Kneafsey (née Walsh), Harmony Heights, Castlebar, is deeply regretted in the community.

Predeceased by her parents Martin and Molly, she is sadly missed by her loving family: daughters Brenda and Sandra, son Colin, sisters Marian (Scotland), Pat (Castlebar) and Ann (Castlebar), brothers Tom (Castlebar) and Christy (London), grandchildren Lily and Ella, son-in-law Eddie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Warm tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.

One stated: "I worked with Goretti for many years in St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Castlebar.

"A lovely, pleasant lady who took great interest in her job and enjoyed the banter. Goodbye my old friend."

"A lovely lady and a great mother and grandmother," another said.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home tomorrow (Monday) from 5:30 until 7 p.m.

Funeral arriving at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11:30 a.m.

Interment takes place afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
