Gardaí called to scene of two Mayo traffic accidents, one motorist is hospitalised

Gardaí have been called to the scene of a collision on the Straide to Bohola roadway.

There is a long back-up of traffic at the location.

It is understood that very heavy rains has made driving conditions very difficult throughout the county.

Meanwhile, a section of the R331 between Claremorris and Hollymount that was closed this morning following an accident.

Gardaí said they and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving a truck and a van at Ballydaff, Taugheen that occurred shortly before 6 a.m.

A male, aged in his 50s, was conveyed to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The road has now reopened.
