Joachim Cooder and Adriano Viterbini

Cooder and Viterbini announce Mayo and Galway gigs for November

Acclaimed American multi-instrumentalist Joachim Cooder and Italian guitar virtuoso Adriano Viterbini will play Mayo and Galway gigs as part of a five-date tour this November.

Tickets are on sale now for their concerts in Matt Molloy's, Westport, on November 11 and Campbell's Tavern, Headford, on November 10.

The remaining Irish dates for the duo are: Connolly’s of Leap, Co. Cork, on November 6; White Horse, Ballincollig, Co. Cork, on November 7; and Whelan’s (Main Venue), Dublin, on November 8.

Born from an online exchange of ideas and solidified through multiple international tours, the Cooder-Viterbini partnership blends Americana, folk, blues, and African-influenced sounds into a unique, genre-defying live experience.

Cooder (son of legendary musician Ry Cooder) contributes vocals, electric mbira, percussion and keyboards, while Viterbini (of Bud Spencer Blues Explosion and I Hate My Village) delivers powerful, textural guitar work on electric, acoustic, ngoni and bouzouki.

Their sets draw on Cooder’s 2024 album Dreamer’s Motel, reimagined traditional songs such as 'Hold the Woodpile Down', Viterbini originals including 'Tubi Innocenti', and improvisations that have become a hallmark of their live shows.

Tickets for the Cooder-Viterbini Mayo and Galway shows are available on Ticketsource.
