Man accused of cultivating cannabis in Mayo to face trial
A Lithuanian national accused of cultivating cannabis at a Mayo property has been sent forward for trial.
Kestutis Liepis, aged 47, of Dooleeg More, Bellacorick, appeared before Belmullet District Court where a book of evidence was served.
He is charged with possession of drugs and possession with intent to supply.
Garda Inspector Dermot Butler told the court he was involved in the search operation which occurred at Dooleeg More on January 16 last.
Inspector Butler said a significant amount of cannabis plants valued at €20,000 were found.
Judge Alan Mitchell remained Liepis on bail to appear before Castlebar Circuit Criminal Court on October 5 next.
