South Mayo school project moves to construction stage
THE Department of Education has granted approval to proceed to construction for a planned extension to a south Mayo national school.
The project at The Neale NS, approved under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme, will deliver a one-class-base Special Education Needs (SEN) unit, providing important additional space and supports for students.
Minister of State Dillon has welcomed the development, describing it as 'fantastic news for this very popular south Mayo school'.
He added: “I wish principal Bríd Brett, the board of management, staff and students every continued success as the project moves forward. This is a significant step that will greatly benefit the school community.”
Minister Dillon reaffirmed his commitment to supporting school infrastructure improvements across Mayo and ensuring that local schools have the facilities they need to meet growing demand.
