Award-winning painter to lead art workshop in Mayo
PRAXIS Art School is delighted to welcome acclaimed Irish painter Aidan Crotty for a two-day painting workshop at Breaffy National School on October 10 and 11.
The workshop will explore the quiet power of observation, light, colour and composition through practical demonstrations and individual guidance.
Working from carefully arranged still-life and natural subjects, participants will be encouraged to develop their own distinctive painting language in a supportive studio environment.
Aidan Crotty is one of Ireland’s leading contemporary painters. His work is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Ireland, the Office of Public Works, AXA Insurance and Munster Technological University. He is the recipient of the 2022 ESB Keating Award and Silver Medal at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Jackson’s Painting Prize (UK), and was selected for the 2020 Zurich Portrait Prize at the National Gallery of Ireland.
The workshop is suitable for emerging and experienced artists alike. Participants should bring their preferred painting materials. Places are limited. The cost is €250 for both days.
