Mayo conference celebrating International Year of the Woman Farmer

ACRES West Connacht are hosting a free event - Women in Agriculture Conference - on October 8.

The event takes place in Mulranny and will celebrate the important role women play on farms, in business, families and rural communities, marking the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026.

The conference will bring women together to celebrate their contribution, share experiences and explore the strength that comes from working together.

The conference runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, in Mulranny Park Hotel.

Key speakers include Maria Walsh, MEP; Dr. Belinda Vigors, social scientist and writer and founder of The Women of Ireland Project; Blátnaid Gallager, co-founder, Galway Wool Co-op, and UN FAO 100 Women Heroes 2026; and Tara Rafter, executive coach and Master NLP practitioner, The Navigation Coach.

Panellists are to be announced.

Whether someone is involved in farming, rural business, community life, or simply want to connect with other women, this event is an opportunity to meet, share, learn and build their own support network.
