Plans lodged for new boutique hotel in Mayo town centre

Plans have been lodged with Mayo County Council for a new three-storey boutique hotel on Emmet Street, Ballina.

Peadar McMahon and Molly McMahon submitted the application on September 17.

It seeks permission to demolish an existing derelict house and related outbuildings on the site.

In their place, the applicants want to build a 23-bedroom boutique hotel.

The plans include a bar and restaurant, a meeting room, service areas, parking facilities and connections to public services.

Mayo County Council has set a decision due date of November 11.

Submissions and observations on the application can be made up to October 21.
