Rain set to spread across Mayo on Thursday

MAYO is set for a breezy day on Thursday, with rain and drizzle becoming more widespread as the day progresses.

Met Éireann is forecasting moderate to fresh southerly winds, with the day starting mostly dry in parts of the county.

There will be some sunny spells early on, particularly towards the east, but it will be cloudier elsewhere with patchy rain and drizzle.

Cloud will thicken through the day, with more persistent rain expected to spread across the western half of the country by evening.

Temperatures across Mayo and elsewhere nationally are expected to reach between 15 and 19 degrees.

The latest outlook indicates that Friday will bring brighter conditions, with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, before more unsettled weather develops over the weekend.
