Mayo Culture Night: 'One Night for All' had something for everyone

On Friday, September 18, the breadth of culture, creativity and community in Mayo was on display as almost 40 events took place in every corner of the county for Culture Night.

From paper-flower making in the Linenhall Arts Centre, to SUBTERRA deep-listening event at SOLAS Visitor Centre, and from multicultural celebrations in Westport, Balla and Castlebar to poetry and music in Louisburgh, there was really something for everyone.

Culture Night has been a staple in the Irish arts calendar for over 20 years, celebrating culture, creativity and the arts on the second last Friday of September. Culture Night seeks to actively promote the belief that culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.

Culture Night is strategically funded by Mayo County Council and the Arts Council of Ireland, and is supported by Creative Ireland, Mayo Local Authority Integration Team and participating groups and venues in Mayo.
