Mayo GAA orders intermediate quarter-final replay

The Intermediate Football Championship quarter-final between Kiltane and Islandeady will be replayed, Mayo GAA has confirmed.

The replay will take place in Parke on Sunday, October 4, at 3 p.m.

Mayo GAA announced the decision this afternoon after receiving the referee's report and a review by the Mayo County Competitions Control Committee (CCC).

Islandeady appealed after losing the tie in Bangor Erris on Sunday last. Kiltane won after extra time.

The appeal centred on the referee's decision to let Kiltane field 15 players in extra time.

Two Kiltane players had been sent off in normal time, Mikie Sweeney, early in the second half and Mikie Conroy late in the game.

Under the rulebook, sendings-off carry over into extra time.

Late two-pointers from Peter Collins and Levi Barrett had earlier levelled the game for Islandeady and forced extra time.

The winners will meet Davitts in the semi-final.
